Our New Logo 2023

Here are the folks who made it happen in 2023 – our fabulous volunteers – ALL of them stepping up again for 2024!

Not all, but most of the regulars who worked ahead of the event bring it to life. A HUGE thank you to ALL those others who simply stepped up quietly on the day and lent a hand. That goes in spades for our kind hosts at Cottesloe Tennis Club. Thanks to all of you!

It’s a piece of cake

Who said this was a tennis tournament? The kids (and lots of lovely mums and dads) are in danger of taking over with their hard work beforehand and sales on the day of magnificent take-home-cos-you’ve-earned-it cakes! Adds beautifully to the great family atmosphere (as well as the waistline).

Getting going

Our big-hearted hitters for 2023, lined up and raring to go.

Cottesloe Tennis Club’s President, Rob Wilde, extends a warm welcome to all the players… and then…

… “BALLS TO THE SERVER!”

CLOCKWISE FROM TOP LEFT: Alice Chris S, Chris C, Clare and Rusty, Elena, Dan the Man

..and more on-court action from 2023

We have lots and lots, thanks to talented photographer, Iona.
CLOCKWISE FROM TOP LEFT: Alex, Chris S (Again?! Yes, we know, but he was everywhere!), Penny, Nathan, Talei, Tracy

.. AND THE WINNERS WERE…

Well, no-one really cares – it is not about winning (Liar! Liar! Pants on fire!).
We certainly don’t EMPHASISE winning, but we do have a result from each division.
So we’ll post those who entered the winners circle either as winners or runners up. The winning prizes are very modest as we are not about GIVING cash away, we are about COLLECTING cash for the kids. Anyway, bragging rights are priceless, right? 🙂
We start here with two women who teamed up and proved to be too strong for the blokes in the division.

Alice McIntosh and Katrina Downes

…. more winners…

BELOW:
Ann-Marie Hogan and Nigel Holmes
Ashvin Isaac and Tracy Oliver
Carolyn Jacquard and Bruce Gregory
Chrisitan Reyboz and Catherine Harper
David Hulm and Vicki Court

… and still they come…

Elena Yaschenko and Grant Elliot

Eva Ooi and Chris Clark

Fiona Allen and Chris Kruk

Matthew and Brenda Plint

(Penny*), Nathan and Rochelle McIntosh

(*Penny is one of ‘us’ on the organising team. She didn’t actually play, far less win, but she looks good on camera. Good onya, Penny 🙂 xxx)

..and last but not least:

Richard Lee and Ann Travers

You need a good FOUNDATION

We’ve got one … it is Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation to be more exact. The Foundation helps the kids in PCH by raising funds for facilities and services that would not otherwise be funded.
Here is Karen De Lore from the PCH Foundation letting us know in a beautifully clear and concise manner about the project Rare Care – Clinical Centre of Expertise for Undiagnosed and Rare Diseases. This is where the cash ($21,000) raised from 2023 was steered. You can read more about that on the PCH Tennis Classic website at https://pchtennisclassic.com/about/

Silent Auction and Raffle

We are raising funds for the kids in Perth Children’s Hospital, and entry fees do not make up the largest portion of the funds collected. Most of our total comes from wonderfully significant cash donations and from the sale by silent auction of goods and services provided by our kind supporters. Some supporters have been very long-term over the history of these events. Between sets and at morning tea, our good-hearted players, supporters and volunteers alike all buy up raffle tickets most generously and wander the items on silent auction to outbid each other – all to the benefit of the kids.
